Buu Long Tourist Area is a vast melting pot of things to look at, areas to explore, and ways to be entertained. Depending on what your mood is will dictate which areas and attractions you’ll focus on, but there are a handful of popular spots to look out for.
Son Nu
The Son Nu area is a lush and green natural space with scenery ideal for photographs and looking at flowers. Small structures and statues are placed in spots that enhance the views and provoke visitors’ imagination.
Long An Lake Bridge
One of the biggest highlights of the Buu Long Tourist Area are lakes that cover an area of 18 square km, but especially the lengthy bridge going across Long An Lake. This footpath brings walkers to the center of the water and offers some fantastic views of the park and “mini Halong Bay,” as the vistas resemble the world-famous UNESCO site.
Boat Rides
Visitors that are itching to get on the water can rent a traditional boat or swan pedal boat to explore the area with a unique vantage point.
Long Son Penninsula
Featuring a 19 meter/62-foot golden statue of Quan Am Buddha carved on Buu Long bluestone, Long Son Peninsula is a great place to find tranquility and mediation. This calming area of the park is thought to bring peace and luck to tourists, making it a popular stop for some reflection. The spiritual statue and natural environment combine to make a great place for unwinding and taking a few photos.
Long Son Thach Dong Pagoda
Take the 99 steps from the foot of Long An Mountain to visit the Long Son Thach Dong Pagoda, a simple building with gorgeous views of the tourist area and lakes.
Thien Hau Ancient Temple
Constructed only of materials harvested from the Buu Long region, this ancient temple is a place to worship Thien Hau, a Chinese “Mother of State.” Every three years, on the 10th day of the sixth lunar month, Chinese natives from Ho Chi Minh City come to this monument to celebrate and host a festival.
Kids’ Area
At Buu Long Tourist Area, there is even a section for small rides and mechanical attractions for kids to use. There is also a place for children to enjoy hands-on educational fun by picking vegetables and tending to small farm animals.
Lan Island
Lan Island is an area of the park that is filled to the brim with over 8,000 orchids. Not only is this a relaxing spot to hang out, but it’s well-known for photo opportunities.
Old Buu Phong Pagoda
The Old Buu Phong Pagoda is an ancient building from the 17th century and is heavily visited by Buddhist travelers. Painted by a monk named Buu Phong, the inside of the temple houses many statues and artwork, including the reclining Buddha statue and a couple of golden deer originating from the Nguyen Dynasty.
Water Activities
Aside from renting boats to use on the lakes, visitors can also get some time by the water swimming in the park’s private pool. This area is incredibly convenient for those who have small children and need a way to cool off during the warm summer months.
